PrescienTrader outputs various types of information to the Trace tab in the AmiBroker Log window. This includes error messages and real-time status updates when running an exploration, backtest or optimization. These analysis operations can run for a long time, so it’s helpful to view the output in the log window to view the progress and make sure everything is OK.
The log window is the first place you should look if something goes wrong. We recommend keeping the window open and docked at the bottom of screen.
If an error message contains a large amount of data, PrescienTrader will also create an external log file, containing more detailed information. This usually occurs when there’s an error communicating with PrescientAPI. In that case, the log file will contain the response from the API, which you can submit to our support team to help troubleshoot the issue.
